A Stone With a Story
Timothy Gray, owner of Pacific Stone, has been selling Huckleberry Stone Supply products for over 32 years, and he’s full of stories about how these stones earned their names:
- Loggers Lane Granite — named for the holding yard located on Logger’s Lane
- Huckleberry Basalt — inspired by the abundance of huckleberry bushes near the original quarry
- Grizzly Granite — a nod to the rumor that a grizzly once lived in the quarry valley
These names add charm, but the stone itself is what makes these granite boulders so special. Sourced directly from Canada, these boulders have a clean, bright, salt-and-pepper appearance — crisp white stone with black speckles that instantly elevates a garden space. They are not generally smooth, giving them a rugged, natural presence that works beautifully in both modern and naturalistic designs.
