- Over 20 years of gardening experience in the Pacific Northwest
- Degrees in Botany and Biology and Master of Education from the U.W.
- Retail experience at a local nursery
- Certified Master Gardener Veteran Status - trained in March 2009
- Certified Professional Horticulturist - licensed in October 2009
- Peace Corps Volunteer – Education Volunteer and tropical veggie & fruit gardener 1996 – 1998
