Now this Plant of the Month is a mouthful! Plumose soft shield fern aka Polystichum setiferum ‘Plumosomultilobum’ is a movie star in the plant world. Featured as a Great Plant Pick and highlighted in Fine Gardening, plant this specimen in full shade with well drained, nutrient rich soil. The older fronds look like moss with the many divided leaflets growing 18″ tall and 24″ wide. Looking closely you will notice the fronds turn in a spiral resembling an octopus. Such life, texture and movement!
