Now is the time to get your planting, mulching & weeding done so you can get onto the fun part; the festivities! Choosing a reason to throw a party should not be your party pooper. Let your gardening spirit rule the roost & let those ideas fly.
Some fanciful, frolicking & freakin’ fun can be had with the ideas below or better yet, email me your ideas for party pandemonium and I’ll post them on the Gardens ALIVE Design facebook page!
Here are some ideas to get those evites out:
Sweet Summer scents abounds amongst candles glowing from mason jars hung in branches or the fence, full bodied wines, salty cheeses & bountiful bouquets teaming with cuttings of nicotiana, amaranth & sword fern from your garden and accentuated with peacock feathers. Decorate in deep maroon, black and white and add pillows and blankets for warmth as the night draws on. Serve steamy marionberry cobbler with nutmeg whip cream – of course! Do I hear some swanky jazz playing in the background?

“Earth it Up” with table runners of moss, river rock and interesting branches. Un-complicate the food prep by serving organic produce on cutting boards with a quality knife for a ‘cut your own’ raw meal. Serve berries, nuts & olives on grape leaf plates. Remember ‘simplicity is bliss’! Wheat grass shots or custom smoothies fresh from your juicer are as difficult as this party gets. Cut ornamental grasses tied with twine to make compostable centerpieces. Hire a circle of drummers to entertain and gather donations for your local food bank, school garden or native plant restoration project. Shall there be a book to discuss or community event to plan – have a greater good to this gathering.
